Jim Hickey is a weather presenter for TVNZ in New Zealand. He was the senior weathercaster for TVNZ from 1988 until 2003, returning in 2007 to replace Brendan Horan. He retired at the end of 2014, presenting for the last time on December 19. Hickey has presented the TVNZ programmes ''A Flying Visit'', ''Jim's Car Show'', ''How's the Weather Jim?'' and ''The Real Middle Earth''. Before becoming a TV presenter he had appeared in New Zealand TV commercials and TV series (e.g. Mortimer's Patch and Children of the Dog Star). He has a Bachelor of Arts in Geography with specialization in climatology, and a Diploma of Meteorology. He has a comedic and sharp style of presenting. In Hickey's hometown of New Plymouth, he has helped shape the airport café, along with local hospitality enthusiast Craig Macfarlane, into an aviation memorabilia-themed café called Airspresso.
